Description

The CMHDARN Symposium is all about building the capacity of the mental health and alcohol and other drugs sectors to conduct practice-based research.

This year, the CMHDARN Symposium will explore the themes of connectivity, ethics and inclusive research through a variety of presentations, panels and round-table conversations:

  • There will be presentations on the basics of ethics – where to start / why ethical research is important and how to make it less of a hurdle, more of a benefit to your research.
  • Delving deeper into ethical research - a panel of people from diverse communities will discuss ethical and inclusive research, highlighting the needs and considerations of conducting research with these communities.
  • Throughout the day there will be opportunities to connect with others who may also be conducting research, to discuss connections, benefits and pitfalls of conducing research whilst also working in these important sectors.
  • The Symposium will conclude with a celebration hour of 10 years of CMHDARN!

If you’re from a mental health and/or alcohol and other drugs service in NSW, an academic exploring these areas or a person with lived experience, this day is for you!

Please join us in advancing community-based research by bringing your voice and making connections at this year’s Symposium.
